Hospital Indemnity
In April, Sarah unexpectedly needed back surgery which needed to be performed on an inpatient basis.
Because Sarah was admitted to the hospital, she was eligible to receive a $1,000 hospital admission benefit.
Sarah remained hospitalized for three days, and therefore was also eligible for a hospital confinement benefit for days two and three. The benefit was equal to $100 per day, bringing the total payable benefit for Sarah to $1,200.
Had Sarah been confined to the hospital for even longer, the $100 per day confinement benefit would have continued to pay for each day she remained hospitalized.
